It Began (and may have now ended, oops)

So... as you all know Bath in fashion began last week. I went to as many events as I possibly could and my next few post will tell you all about how good this years event was and the different things I was able to go and see and take part in.
Here's a few photos I managed to take on my little old phone of the grand opening of the event from last week.

It was pouring with rain and my friend Marianne was stood outside all day taking photos of the fashionies around Bath so I payed her a visit and whisked her away when she finished.

All week these wardrobes were all over town. you simply had to text a code to the number given to be in with the chance on winning £100 spending money and a holiday. I may have some extra charges on my phone bill this month, oops.

There was also a Norman Parkinson exhibition which ran all week and showed a small selection of some of his photographs.Even ones in Bath (below)

It was a great start to the week and I had so much fun and it keeps getting better every year, this was certainly the best yet.
My next couple of post will be on the goings on form last week but I hope to have some new outfit post up soon.

Bath In Fashion

Tomorrow is the start of Bath if Fashion. advertised as "the most talked-about fashion gathering outside of London" Every year this event in Bath gets bigger and better and is such a good way of celebrating the different styles you can find around bath.

I've been to events held during the week in previous years but have never got round to putting any of the photos I've taken up so here's some of my favorites from one of the shows from 2011.

Many more photos to come from this week. If you can go and see something or even just wander round the centre tomorrow (Saturday 13th)in your weekend best you could get the chance to be photographed by my lovely friend Marianne who is taking shots for the local news paper The Bath Chronicle. I can't wait!

Valentino

The Valentino Master of Couture exhibition was at Somerset House until recently (3rd of March). I wish I had blogged about it earlier as it's now finished but it really was worth seeing.

there were 3 parts to the show starting with hand drawn designs, letters, personal photos and my favorite a special Christmas card to Valentino from princes Charles, William and Harry. all 3 three royals posed on the front in the funniest outdoor nature image. This bit was more than a little bit strange.

The second part and main part was a long corridor showing over 100 different dresses and outfits. All of them amazing. I highlighted some of my favorite ones in the little booklet, below, that we were given with information on each outfit. There were so many stunning dresses. Along with the dresses there were various chairs with reserved signs on with names of multiple celebs, royals and designer A-listers. It felt like I was on the catwalk strutting my stuff in front of all these people, although it was more of a shuffle and squeeze past the groups of older ladies that lined wither side of the walk way.

Finally the last part was a short film of some of his work and how to videos and examples of some of the techniques used on the dresses you had just seen. And if you look below standing alone a beautiful wedding dress. The amount of hours that would have gone into this dress were immense  a long train trailed behind with hundreds of hand stitched beads and delicate pieces of lace. It was really stunning.

I wish I had been able to take my own photos but there was a strict no photos policy. so these will have to do. Also wish I'd blogged about it sooner so you all could have gone. Valentino's couture work is beautiful so if you're interested in couture I would definitely do some research on him. safe to say I now pay more attention to his work.

Style Crush - Jameela Jamil

I love Jameela Jamil's style. she always manages to pull of a look that looks perfectly styled yet completely relaxed. I really love playing around with colours, shapes and prints and again this is something Jameela does so well.
I love the simple black dress on the far left so simple but so effective. I'm velvet's number one fan so I am far too attracted to the boots in the middle picture in such a luxury colour as well.
If I could afford it I would play around with with so many more things but as you all know I'm a poor student living off a part time librarians wage. But I do what I can.
who are you favorite style females or males?
